Baryons and tachyons and bears oh my

OK, the terms baryons and tachyons are genuine terms from physics. I have made certain assumptions and / or changes in their hypothetical nature to make certyain technologies in the Star Wars universe work.

Baryon translates as 'heavy particle' more or less. These are what makes solid objects solid. All baryons have mass, and all travel slower than light.

Tachyon translates as 'fast particle' more or less. These are hypothetical in the real world, but are genuinely believed to exist by most if not all physicists. What tachyons might do is very much a conjecture in the real world. In Star Wars they do a great deal, not the least of which is enable hyper-energy levels to exist. Tachyons all have mass, and all travel faster than light. What makes them really difficult to work with is that they travel backwards in time.

If we choose for a time to see the passage of time itself as a film strip, we can observe the baryon below.

As we watch it moves from left to right as documented by the frames. We understand this intuitively. However, when we 'watch' a tachyon as below,,,

We have to mentally adjust things slightly. The tachyon makes the exact same apparent motion (left to right) even though it is in fact travelling right to left because it is also going backwards in time.

This causes the phenomena of hyper-drive stall as we see below;

Seen from the 'point of view' of the tachyon explosion (1-5) we see a perfectly normal bang, and expanding cloud of energy. However, when we watch it from the 'point of view' of the baryon, and see it in linear time we start with the huge cloud of energy which rapidly gets smaller until it disappears.
